Literally p%$#ed myself watching Ogilvy’s ads for BP…
My best is the hilarious supporter banners, such as “When days are dark friends are few”.
Hahahahahahha thanks Ogilvy for such a funny, truly South African campaign and I’ll be watching it at the Loeries.

TBWA/Hunt Lascaris wowed me with their impactful but simple campaign for The Zimbabwean. Taking the actual currency of Zimbabwe, which is about as useful as wallpaper, they have created a striking campaign that speaks to the heart of the issue.

And their achievement has been recognised at the Cannes awards with a silver lion.

The first of the four awards ceremonies honoured Promo, Direct Lions and the inaugural PR categories. SA had five entries shortlisted for Direct and two for Promo.
After selecting a shortlist of 143 from the 1118 entries submitted in the Promo Lions categories, a total of 44 winners were chosen by the international jury. The Promo Grand Prix went to Beacon Communications in Tokyo for its entry ‘Yubari’ to promote the Yubari Resort. A further 10 Gold, nine Silver, 24 Bronze Lions were also awarded.
Cumminsnitro, in Brisbane, were the winners of the inaugural PR Grand Prix for Tourism Queensland’s ‘Best Job in the World’. In its first year, the PR category received 431 entries, from which the jury also chose to award 17 PR Lions from an initial shortlist of 37 (South Africa did not make the PR shortlist).
‘Best Job in the World’ was also awarded the Direct Grand Prix, making this Cumminsnitro’s second Grand Prix of the night. Eleven Gold, 12 Silver and 26 Bronze trophies were given from a total of 1364 entries, of which 180 were shortlisted.
The Direct Agency of the Year award was won by Shackleton, Madrid.
Leading the Promo jury was William Rosen, president and chief creative officer of Arc Worldwide, North America. Lord Tim Bell, chairman of Chime Communications, was president of the first PR Jury and David Sable, vice chairman and COO of Wunderman, headed up the Direct Jury.
